GROTTE DI CATULLO
Residential Villa
Grotte di Catullo is a Roman Villa located on the southern shore of Lake Garda, Italy. This site is one with historical significance and welcomes tourists and locals to visit a site which expresses the ancient way of life and construction technology.
The Proposed Villa on the existing site is owned by an art collector who boasts a wealth of knowledge and interest in the landscape and in the arts. As the primary owner, his residence is open to his friends and family as he often enjoys sharing his exhibition with those who show interest.
Minimal and clean design forms part of the values of the villa. There is a belief that the ability to design ‘clean’ spaces impacts one’s overall mood and lifestyle. A lifestyle which encourages an interchangeable experience between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Minimalism holds a level of complexity to it. Although it may appear to be little work in attaining the desired space, one can almost guarantee that a certain level of skill is needed in designing a space which facilitates all the necessary activities but in a manner which is not overwhelming.
An exhibition of artwork which embodies and celebrates the natural, new and roman built landscape.
